One Month Birthday!

Baby Zeke turned ONE MONTH the beginning of August:

• Zeke is a VERY NOISY sleeper!  He grunts and squeals and growls and spits and blows airs... and stretches and stretches and stretches in his sleep!  Often it sounds like an elephant is sleeping in our home.
• Zeke is a proficient bubble blower.
• Zeke learned to coo this month!
• We happened to put the changing table next to the window... talk about the best "happen to" ever!  Zeke LOVES to play on the changing table and coo and kick and smile at the window.
• Zeke is an expert pooper!
• Zeke loves to smile and LAUGH in his sleep.  His first AWAKE smile was for Dad on 7/25!!
• Zeke tolerates baths and doesn't ever cry when we are bathing him... he just makes tolerable grunts to let us know he isn't quite enjoying bath time.
• Zeke can follow people/objects with his eyes.
• Zeke LOVES looking at trees and our pergola outside.
• Zeke is quickly loosing his baby hair... and looking a little more old man-ish.
• Most of Zeke's first month was spent wearing mittens because we couldn't keep up with clipping his nails fast enough!

 

Zeke's parents learned how to hold a teeny-tiny newborn baby... major scary accomplishment!  We also learned how to change diapers quickly... and how to put them on Zeke TIGHT to prevent leaks (this skill took me a LONG time to master).

 We finished Zeke's nursery just in the nick of time!  Brent did a fantastic job designing it!

Brent refinished this dresser for Zeke.  Mel was using it for an entertainment center at her house and donated it to us. I turned out super sleek!

Brent also designed the basketball wall art and the vinyl subway art on the walls.  Once the vinyl was printed, we discovered it was STUCK to the transfer paper and would NOT transfer to the wall... so Brent transferred EACH LETTER individually from the transfer paper to the wall!!  It took him DAYS, but it turned out looking really fun!
